What should I wear?

In our salsa school feel free to wear comfortable clothes such as jeans, t-shirts or sweatshirts. They are fine as long as they don�t restraint you from moving.

Make sure you have proper shoes. The best shoes are dancing shoes such as ballet-shoes, jazz-shoes because they are especially made for dancers. Some types of sneakers can be fine too, but their bottom should�t be to hard and it should allow you to turn.

What music should I practice to?

Make sure you train and practice a lot! One and a half hour of dancing in a week may be not enough. Try to find place where you could train with your friends, go out to the salsa parties and find a moment in your busy day to go through at least the basic steps. Remember, even 10 or 15 minutes a day is always better than nothing! We encourage you to look for some nice salsa songs and try to discover fascinating salsa/mambo music. You�ll find some tips in our Salsa Artists section.

Should ladies ask men for dancing?

Why not? There is nothing unusual in it in a �liberated� salsa world! J Ladies feel free to ask fellows to dance with you, otherwise how should men know you can dance? Or even, when you�re a beginner you can ask for some tips from more experienced partners. Remember asking is not a sin and it�s always betters to ask than to stay in a corner all night long!

What is timing?

In general it�s the rhythm you should stick to while dancing. It�s the responsibility of the leader to keep the proper timing. It�s not important whereas you dance on2 or on1 the leader has to make sure he�s consistent and dances all song to the same beat!

What is leading?

It�s the men�s job! Gentlemen remember your a lady is a treasure and you need to take care of her during the song (and maybe a bit after ;) to make her feel good and save by your proper leading. Don�t be to hard to yourself though, learning of leading is not easy and takes time. Start form basic turn patterns and master them, than you can move on to more complicated combos! In our school we teach the proper leading techniques which will allow you to enchant your partner and make her dance for you!

What is following?

Unlike leading and timing, following is a ladies thing. Ladies, you should follow your partner on the dance floor and try to understand his leading. It�s not easy at first but more you dance you�ll get it. In our classes we learn the proper following in order to make your dance beautiful and correct. Remember the best dancing ladies are those who can follow anybody and anything!

What is styling?

Styling is a part of our personality. It expresses our passions feelings and emotions. It should be unique and full of flavor. In our classes we put emphasis on basic styling techniques which will help you to develop your own style to make you dancing a real bomb!

Remember, don�t try to be anyone�s copy! Always try to dance better than your dance instructor! And be yourself!

What is body-movement?

Here are some rules and techniques of using your body and your muscles to move in a planned, well coordinated way. We teach how to isolate different muscles of your body in order to make your body dancing more and better!
